6 Week Check-up
Xander with his midwife Kristin

Xander had his last appt. yesterday with Kristin yesterday and got a clean bill of health. He is still growing like a weed. He's gained 3lbs and 5 oz since he was born, for a whooping 11 lbs, 6 oz. He's grown 10 cm in length, and is now 62.5 cm. His head has grown 3.5 cm and is now 40 cm.
Sadly, it was our last appt with Kristin. We have an appt. with our family dr. in two weeks. I think he will get his immunizations at this appt. I guess we'll need to decide which ones to give him. Things have changed since we were kids. They even offer chicken pox vaccines - whatever happened to sending all the kids in the neighbourhood down to the basement to play when one of them got the chicken pox???????

Happy Father's Day
Happy Father's Day to my Poppys and Daddy. I hope you have a very nice day. In honour of Father's Day, I decided to smile long enough to let Mommy take my picture.

Excuse the camera strap - Mom got a bit excited trying to take my picture quickly.

Yesterday I went to a bridal shower with Mom. The ladies seemed to enjoy themselves, but frankly I was a little bored.

I am quite the sqirmin' hermin lately. I like to kick my legs in the tub and anywhere else for that matter.

I have my last appt. with the midwife tomorrow afternoon. Mom will keep you posted about my appt. I've probably gained a lot of weight though, because I've been eating quite bit lately.

Sleep ... who needs sleep

We've had lots of firsts this week. Xander went to his first christening. His girlfriend Nya Ann Trask got christened. He didn't want to go at first but then he slept all through the ceremony.
Yesterday we went to "Mommy and Me" at the movie theatre. Xander enjoyed the movie and was very good. He must get his love of the movies from his Nanny Lush and Uncle Chad.
He's hasn't been big on sleeping during the night lately. We've started our day at 4:00 a.m. two days in a row now.
This is Xander 5:00 this morning. He likes to smack at the giraffe.

Sleeping soundly at 8:30 a.m., now that it's time to get up.

Who put this hat on me ... let me at 'em!!

One Month Old
It's hard to believe it's been a full month since our little Xander was born. In some ways it seems like just yesterday, but it's hard to believe how much he's grown. The past month has been just a blur ...
They have a well baby drop-in once a week where you can get your baby weighed and ask the public health nurse any questions you have. I took Xander to be weighed today. He gained a whole pound in 6 days. The kid likes to eat. He is now 10 lbs, 8 oz.

Here's a picture with his new sunglasses. I like them much more than he does.

He really likes this black and white toy. He focuses on it and reaches out and smacks it.

Sunday, June 4th
Xander is getting more and more alert all the time. Yesterday he was awake and playing almost all afternoon. When he sits in his bouncy chair he has started to notice the toys hanging above and will smack at them with his hands. He's very social and likes to be constantly entertained when he's awake.
He's growing very quickly. His legs and feet are so long that he's grown out of most of his 3 month sleepers with feet in them.
On Thursday we went to get our pictures taken at Loblaws. Turns out picture taking is quite exhausting. We got one nice one of him sleeping and then we tried to get a shot of his hands and feet. He was having none of me trying to hold his arm up - so we stuck with the one pose. Here's a picture I took when we got home.

Hanging with my Aunt Joannie. He loves to be cuddled and particularly loves lying on bellies.

Enjoying some more tummy time on the quilt my Nanny Lush made me

Midwife Appointment
Yesterday was a very busy day. We had our check-up at the midwives. Xander is growing very fast. He weighed 9 lbs, 8 oz. He almost gained a full pound in two weeks. He measured 57.5 cm long (he grew 5 cm since birth).

Then, we had some tummy time - which he seemed to enjoy. For a few minutes anyway.

We also bought a new swing that Xander loves.

Birthday wishes to Nanna Green. We hope you have a very happy birthday.
