Waking up is hard to do ...

Xander seems to be going through a bit of a growth spurt snd as such has been doing lots of sleeping this week. I took him to the well baby drop-in on Tuesday and he was 14 lbs, 2 oz.

Trying out his carrier in one of his waking moments. He likes it much better now that he can face out.

Congratulations to Uncle Rocketman

Congratulations to Chad for finishing his Half Ironman on Sunday. I really don't know why they call it a half. It's not a half of anything (2km swim - I think, 90 km bike ride, and 21km run). He finished in under 6hours and was still smiling. Not to mention the gruelling heat. It was all we could do just to sit in it as spectators.

You're so hot Aunt Joanne - I'm melting

We just got back from the well baby drop-in. Xander is still growing very fast. He gained another 8 oz this week - he is now 13 lbs, 6 oz. John and I cannot believe how quickly he is growing.

Lifting His Head

Here's Xander snoozing at the Papanack Zoo. We went on an outing with our friends with small children. But it was so hot even the African Lions were hiding in the shade so we didn't stay too long.

This is from this morning - Xander is getting really strong. We noticed a big difference this week in his ability to hold up his head.

Another picture from the Zoo. We have a new Mac and I can't quite figure out how to cut and paste. So, the pictures are a bit out of order.

Another photo from this a.m.

9 Weeks

Xander continues to grow very fast. We went to the well-baby drop-in today and he gained another 8 oz this week. He's now 12lbs, 14 oz.

Everytime I get a good smile I get excited and end up with the camera cord in the picture.

Being a baby is exhausting ...

2 Months

Xander is becoming more and more alert. He follows the elephants above his swing.

Picture I took this morning to show his long, long legs.

Xander had his two month appointment with Dr. Wong yesterday. She couldn't believe how active and alert he was for two months. He weighs 12 lbs, 6 oz and is now measuring 63 cms or almost 25 inches. He is quite the dandy long legs. According to Dr. Wong he is in the 97th percentile for height. And the 75th percentile for weight and head circumference.

He also had his immunizations yesterday. Two in one thigh and one in the other. He screamed as the needle went in each time. He settled down quite quickly when I picked him up and cuddled him. He wasn't quite himself yesterday. But seems to be good as new this morning. Hopefully John can come for his 4 month vaccinations cause I think it was harder on me than him.

Busy Week

Sorry our ever faithful fans - it has been a very busy week. Nan and Pop Lush were visiting again and Xander got christened on Sunday.

Tuesday I took Xander to the well baby drop-in and he was 12lbs,.5oz. He's growing so fast I can't believe it. He's already grown out of his 0 to 3 mths clothes. I had to clean it out of his closet this week and I got a little sad that he's growing so quickly. He is becoming much more alert, constantly kicking his legs and moving his arms. He also will laugh if he's in the right mood. Although John is much better at getting him to laugh than me.

Lately he has been doing very well with sleeping through the night (knock on wood). He goes to sleep about 9:00 and doesn't wake up til 5:00 a.m. We have our two month appt with our family doctor on Wednesday. Hopefully the immunizations go okay.
