A Rare Quiet Moment

Here is Xander taking is usual post supper nap on the couch (as his Dad sits nearby of course).

He continues to be a very active baby. He is just rearing to go all the time. Patience does not seem to be one of his greater virtues. And I've recently learned that this was a problem for his Dad when he was a little boy, so I have a bad feeling it may not improve anytime soon :-)

Christmas is Coming ...

We took Xander to get his picture taken with Santa today. Of course, as often happens with the best laid plans - ours fell apart. We had to wait for an hour in the line and by the time we got to the front of the line, Xander had fallen asleep. We decided it would be cute to get his picture taken asleep in Santa's lap. Just as the photographer goes to snap the picture Xander woke up - thus "the where the heck am I" look on his face. He didn't cry as he quickly became preoccupied with rubbing the fur on Santa's sleeve. He is very very picky!!! Takes after his Mom apparently.

Anxiously awaiting his big trip to the Mall.

Is it my turn yet Santa?

Phoning Home

Is that you Nan?

Just 5 more minutes Mom ...

My new sippy cup. I like to chew on it, but I haven't quite figured out how to drink.

November 16th

Check out my new tub seat. Now I can grab for all my floating toys.

What a good babysitter you are Uncle John - two babies - no tears

All ready for Mother Goose. My Mom started out with good intentions of posting this picture yesterday to wish Aunt Joannie a Happy Birthday. Opps - Happy Belated Birthday Aunt Joanne.

This was after my Mother Gosse Nursery Rhyme workshop yesterday. I got a bit frusturated watching some of the older babies crawling and I tried very hard to move my arms and legs to get to them. That with all the singing tuckered me out.

Perhaps I'll be the next Tommy Lee. I'm quite enjoying my drum set from Uncle Scott and Aunt Krista. I've figured out how to bang the two drum sticks together.

6 Months Old!!!!

I can't believe my little angel turned 6 months old yesterday. I don't know where the time has gone. He's getting to be such a big little boy. He's now sitting up pretty well unassisted and has recently discovered his hands - he likes to clap his hands together. He had his 6 month appointment today and did great after his shots. He is still over the 97 percentile for height and is in the 75th for weight. He's 73 and 1/2 cm and 18 lbs 12 and 1/2 oz.

My crazy parents celebrating my 1/2 birthday. I liked the candles but they got to enjoy cake.

Trying desparately to get Cousin Maggie to notice me - or chew on her sleeve

Time Flies

I cannot believe Xander will soon be six months old!!!! I also can't believe how much a baby grows in 6 months. The midwifery group that delivered Xander had a reunion yesterday for all the babies born in 05/06. The midwives could not believe how big Xander had gotten. He's really starting to notice everything. In a month or so I am going to have my hands full. He is just so anxious to start crawling he keeps moving his arms and legs but can't quite figure out how to move them together to crawl. Putting a diaper on him these days is quite the challenge, he like to roll over and squirm to get away.

Here's some pictures of Xander with Kristen - our midwife

They brought their scale so I weighed him - he's taking up much more room than initially. He was about 20 pounds fully dressed, so I figure he's pushing about 19 lbs in the buff. We'll find out at the doctor's on Thursday.

Here's a picture of our friends Crystal and Zoe at the reunion. Zoe was born one week after Xander. You can check out their website at www.babypruys.blogspot.com. Crystal has a very cute picture posted of Xander snoozing at the reunion.

My First Halloween

In our house cowboys like to jump

They also like to ride rocking horses (not really the little cowboy's mom and dad like to get him to pose for pictures)

Xander opening his first treat bags. We didn't go trick or treating but Aunt Joanne and Uncle Chad and another friend brought treat bags
